THE LUXURY I DO NOT UNDERSTAND

Some time ago our office was situated in an apartment on Svetoslav Terter, street – quiet place with houses and trees, crossing of Ivan Asen, street, one of the few remaining places like this in the center of Sofia. It looked like this when we moved in 2003.

What happened on “our street” during the previous years? The same what happened also in the whole city. “Modern” buildings were built, existing buildings were insulated and painted in all sorts of colors. Shortly – everything was spoiled.

The next pictures are “in memoriam” of one of these simple houses, which people didn’t appreciate enough. It was replaced from a building touching the building limits with all facades. The construction process was stopped for more than a year because the concrete works were executed terribly bad – I have personally seen crooked and twisted columns and concrete walls of the new building. Today on this place stands “luxurious” residential building. Probably the owners, parking their cars in front of it find is luxurious. But I do not.
